The Sea of Tranquility

Synopsis :

Former piano prodigy Nastya Kashnikov wants two things: to get through high school without anyone learning about her past and to make the boy who took everything from her—her identity, her spirit, her will to live—pay.

Josh Bennett’s story is no secret: every person he loves has been taken from his life until, at seventeen years old, there is no one left. Now all he wants is be left alone and people allow it because when your name is synonymous with death, everyone tends to give you your space.

Everyone except Nastya, the mysterious new girl at school who starts showing up and won’t go away until she’s insinuated herself into every aspect of his life. But the more he gets to know her, the more of an enigma she becomes. As their relationship intensifies and the unanswered questions begin to pile up, he starts to wonder if he will ever learn the secrets she’s been hiding—or if he even wants to.

Review

When I read the synopsis, I thought what the story could be. A regular girl, high school blah blah and marked it as TBR . Later after months one of my friends told me to read it, when I asked what is it about she just said read you will know. I was intrigued and started this book. From the first page itself I was hooked when I was reading, I could not put it down when I wasn't reading all I could do was think about Nastya. It was as if I was pulled into her world and was made to watch her pain and suffering in 3D. Not even at any point I felt bored or dragging. Ever chapter, every page had its own importance. The development of the story was synchronized with the characters. Each character had so much hidden inside that we could not even predict how they would behave next. Every character had an important footing in the story. The more story progressed the more each character grew in their own way and the end just took my breadth away.

Characters

Nastya:
Very strong character. Bold, sarcastic, don't take your Shit kind of girl. I could never stop thinking about her. Every second I wanted to know her secret and when I knew, I wished I hadn't.

I live in a world without magic or miracles. A place where there are no clairvoyants or shapeshifters, no angels or superhuman boys to save you. A place where people die and music disintegrates and things suck. I am pressed so hard against the earth by the weight of reality that some days I wonder how I am still able to lift my feet to walk.

She covered herself in so much makeup that the real Nastya was no longer visible to anyone. Then again the question is does real Nastya ever existed ?
Her silence, and her determination to remain silent floored me. I kept thinking what if I choose silence and I knew the answer I would not last a single day.

I feel like I’m waiting here. Waiting for something that hasn’t happened yet. Something that isn’t yet. But that’s all I feel and nothing else. I don’t know if I even exist. And then someone flips a switch and the light is gone, the room is gone, the weightlessness is gone.

Josh :
josh, when I think of him I can do nothing but sigh. He had to grow up before he was meant too. Loss does that to you, his intense nature pulled Nastya in. Even though he did not wanted anyone around him still Nastya got to him and that too big time.

I wonder how much Nastya picks up on. She watches everything that goes on in shop, though she hasn’t touched so much as a nail since the hammer incident. She’s been watching me here at night for the past two weeks. I haven’t been successful in getting her to leave so I’ve given up. Last night I tried being outright rude. I figured if telling her to get the fuck out didn’t do the trick, nothing would, so that’s what I told her. She didn’t get the fuck out, at least not until she felt like it an hour later.

Her presence soothed and irritated him at the same time. He wanted her to stay yet leave him alone. The more she stayed the more it got hard for him to keep himself away from her.

I have to decide if I really do want her gone, because if I tell her to leave this time, I have no doubt that she’ll take my word for it. I should say yes. Hell, yes. I’ve been trying to get rid of you since you showed up, but that’s a lie and we both know it.

Drew :
My favorite character in the book. You must be thinking why do I choose a supporting character as my favorite when Nastya and Josh are so awesome. But, yes, Drew is the one for me. Not because he has looks or his wackiness. Not because he is a man-whore( that is what he is known as), but because of his character. His pretense. His unconditional love for Nastya. Not the love that we see in love triangles but platonic love. His protectiveness.

I never really bought the whole of his image, at least not to assume that it was all of him. But he was the one selling it. I was led to believe that if you look up moral turpitude – or maybe just man-whore‌—‌the definition is Drew Leighton. This is shattering that image.

His loyalty, his friendship, his caring. I felt there should be a second book with main character as drew. He has so much in him that when I think about him, I feel what more is he hiding.

“We were in Little League together. When everybody started dying and everybody else started ignoring me, he didn’t. He just kept coming back and coming back, even when I tried to get rid of him. Eventually I realized he wasn’t going anywhere.”

“Sounds like Drew.”

Story :

This story is about pain, suffering, about love and friendship, about second chances and redemption. This story is about family and knowing the real meaning of it, realizing that family does not just can be called to blood relations but it has much deeper meaning and depth to it. This story is about saving that one thing which is important of all; Soul.

Recommendation: To everyone.........

I Love You to death

"I LOVE YOU TO DEATH" By Natalie Ward

Death. No matter what anyone says, its the one thing you can't avoid , can't put off , and can't stop. Its inevitable, and unfortunately it can happen when you least expect it.

When Ash loses her boyfriend, she is consumed by grief, loneliness and an overwhelming sense of guilt for her role in not only his death, but the deaths of everyone she has ever loved. Refusing to let anyone in for fear of losing them too, she becomes withdrawn, spending her days reliving the nightmares from her past.
Until she meets Luke. Initially scared by his intensity and interest in her, Ash tries to push him away. But as Luke slowly starts to chip away at the walls she’s built, Ash finds herself doing the one thing she swore she’d never do again — falling in love.

When the familiar feelings Ash had hoped were long buried with her past begin to resurface, she is forced to ask herself if falling in love again is really worth the risk

That was the life of Asha ...she held sadness in her eyes... and for luke she was the most beautiful girl in the world...
Meet Luke...a guy with a flare for music... who was so deep in love with ash that... he could feel her saddness in him....

Beautiful, beautiful girl
I can see the sadness you hold in your eyes
Beautiful, beautiful girl
I see all of the pain you bury inside
Beautiful, beautiful girl

How much I long to make you smile
Make you feel happy for a while
Bring back the light to your life
Beautiful, beautiful girl.
Have you let me love you for a while
Beautiful, beautiful girl.

I completely adored this book, the story was so heart wrenching... it was about asha's stuggle and luke's never ending love... as the story enfolds and she unveil her past losses.. one by one my heart breaks for her every loss..
she is done losing ppl she love and cant bare it anymore so she does only one think she find easy... she removes herself from socialization... but when luke comes in her life she can't help it...
"I watch his eyes as they find me in the crowd.  I watch his lips as they sing into the microphone.  I watch his fingers as they play his guitar.  I watch his body as it moves around the stage and I imagine his eyes, his body…all over me.  I want him"

I can never explain all that I feel, to you
I can never show everything that I feel, to you
But I need to tell you
How much I want you, how much I need you
And how much I love you.

I need to tell you,
That you are the air that I breathe
That you are my heart as it beats
That you are my soul and all that it keeps
You are my everything and
I will spend forever trying to show you.

But I need to tell you
How much I want you, how much I need you
And how much I love you.
I need to tell you
I really need to tell you
How much I love you.

Luke made her smile again, love again ... he was all she need... he showed her how to love herself again... he showed her how to trust her again... but above all he showed her how to  LIVE again....

As long as stars shine down from heaven
And the rivers run into the sea
Til the end of time forever
You're the only love I'll need

In my life you're all that matters
In my eyes the only truth I see
When my hopes and dreams have shattered
You're the one that's there for me

When I found you I was blessed
And I will never leave you, I need you

 Imagine me without you
I'd be lost and so confused
 I wouldn't last a day, I'd be afraid
Without you there to see me through

Imagine me without you
Lord, you know it's just impossible
Because of you, it's all brand new
 My life is now worthwhile
I can't imagine me without you

When you caught me I was falling
You're love lifted me back on my feet
It was like you heard my calling
And you rush to set me free

When I found you I was blessed
And I will never leave you, I need you
When I found you I was blessed
And I will never leave you, I need you oh

I can't imagine me without you

Reason To breathe

REASON TO BREATHE

Synopsis :

A passionate love. A brutal betrayal. Unwavering hope.

In a town where most people worry about what to be seen in and who to be seen with, Emma Thomas would rather not be seen at all. She's more concerned with feigning perfection, pulling down her sleeves to conceal the bruises. Emma doesn't want anyone to know how far from perfect her life truly is.

When Emma unexpectedly finds love, it challenges her to recognize her own worth - but at the risk of revealing the terrible secret she's desperate to hide.

Review :
I choose this book basically because of its cover , I wanted to know the story behind that girl . This book was a page-turner, when I was reading it , I couldn't put it down. When I wasn't reading it , all I could think about was Emma .

It was a very emotional tale, I was bawling my eyes out till the end, and I couldn't get enough.

Emma Thompson is the girl everyone wants to be. A perfect grade point average, being scouted by major colleges for her talent in soccer, and contributing in numerous after school projects. But she has a secret. Her father has died awhile back, and her mother abandoned her when she was little. She lives with her aunt and uncle who aren't always the most understanding people. Her aunt, Carol, despises Emma, and keeps her on a very tight leash and doesn't always treat Emma like a normal person.

Her only salvation is her best friend Sara

"What no one understood, besides Sara, was that all I really cared about were the days I counted down until I moved out of my aunt’s and uncle’s house to go to college. So if I had to put up with the whispers behind my back as I received the highest marks in the class, then so be it. They weren’t going to be there to save me if I did anything but succeed, so I didn’t need to get involved in the gossip and typical teenage tripe."

Emma does not want to draw attention to herself believing that by keeping her head down, nobody will notice her, and she can achieve academic success in the process. And she does this because:

She needs a scholarship of her future as it is the only thing that will save her from her current situation.
Her schoolwork is a distraction from her atrocious home life and frequent physical punishment from a family member that should have nurtured her, but instead, chooses to torment her.

"If anyone were to observe this routine, they would think this was the picture perfect America family sitting down to enjoy dinner together.

The picture changes when I crept out of the room. The air became thick with discord with the crushing reminder that I existed, a blemish to their portrait."

But everything changes when she meets Evan ,

He peered down at me in anticipation.
“I get that you’re new, and I must seem intriguing to you. But I assure you, I’m not that interesting. You really don’t need to get to know me. I get good grades. I’m decent at sports, and I keep myself busy. I like my privacy. I like my space, and I like to be left alone. That’s it. You can get to know everyone else in this school who’s dying to know you. I’m not. Sorry.”

He grinned.

the secret she tried so hard to bury , is getting unravel by him. She is getting attached to him but does not want to indulge him in her life .

As time passes and thier love blossoms , Emma finds that she has to make a decision for her like , as living in the house with her aunt was becoming difficult day by day. Will she be able to decide before losing the most important thing she possess...... HER LIFE The end took my breath away ... The scariest cliffhanger I read till now
